ABOUT STANDING SEAM METAL ROOFING IN YAVAPAI COUNTY
Standing seam metal roofs are comprised of metal panels that are attached to the roof using concealed clips and fasteners to create a waterproof roof system. The ridges you see below, or “standing seams”, are where the panels are connected together and help facilitate water drainage of of the roof.

This type of metal roofing comes in 12″, 16″, or 18″ wide panels, and either 22 or 24 gauge metal. THE STANDING SEAM METAL ROOF IN YAVAPAI COUNTY
A properly installed standing seam metal roof is something you can trust for many years. We start from the roof deck with a high quality underlayment like FT Synthetics Platinum HT, which is a high-temperature resistant, self-adhering underlayment that will not be affected by the heat that a metal roof can create. As a self-adhering underlayment, all the screw holes will be self-sealing, another reason we prefer it.
Once the underlayment is applied, flashings are installed in valleys and along eaves. Then, the metal panels are installed using concealed clips that are fastened to the roof deck on the leading edge of each panel. Each subsequent panel is hooked over the previous panel and then fastened down on its leading edge until the roof is completed.
From there, we will install rake metal, ridge cap, penetration flashings, and all other flashings to create a complete roofing system that is watertight, attractive, and will last for years.
LIFESPAN AND WARRANTIES
While standing seam metal roofing is one of the more expensive types of roofing, it should last 50 or more years, depending on the sunlight hitting it, climate conditions, and exposure. When we use high quality underlayment, the roofing system will perform for decades before that underlayment starts to decay.
